Dosage and usage
Movicol dosage
For oral use.
This Movicol product is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Talk to your doctor if a child under 12 years requires Movicol.

Dosage for constipation
1-3 sachets per day in divided doses.
Dissolve each sachet in 125ml of water. A course of treatment usually lasts for a maximum of 2 weeks. -
Dosage for faecal impaction
8 sachets per day, all taken with a 6-hour period. Dissolve each sachet in 125ml of water or dissolve 8 sachets in 1 litre of water. A course of treatment usually lasts for a maximum of 3 days.

Dissolve each Movicol sachet in 125ml of water. Stir well until mixture becomes clear.

Movicol should not be taken if you have intestinal perforation, obstruction due to structural or functional disorder of the gut wall or ileus or if you have severe inflammatory conditions of the intestinal tract (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, toxic megacolon) or you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Movicol can be taken if you are pregnant* or breastfeeding.
